THE VISTARA MASCOT

Meet Keki.

Keki is Vistara’s mascot: the Vistara mark drawn as a peacock’s spread tail, with a small face. It rests small in the corner of the workspace and grows for a moment when there is news. Everything it does maps to something Vistara already knows about your agents.

Keki was designed with Zac (@zacxbt)

The intro from the app, playing live: Keki wakes, says what changed, waits on what needs you and spreads its tail when the checks pass.Sample data

Keki, a round cream bird with a vermilion peacock tail, sleeps on top of a Vistara window. It wakes with a stretch and says “Welcome back. 4 done without you. 1 needs you.” A sample card arrives; Keki hops beside it, taps it once and says “This one’s waiting on you.” Once it is answered, Keki carries the result to Ready for review, watches 84 tests run and spreads its tail: “84 of 84 passed. It’s done.”

One move for each thing Vistara knows.

Keki holds a look while your agents work, and plays one short moment for each piece of news. Every bubble names the session it is about.

N and M come from your own sessions and the checks that ran. Keki never makes up a number.

Twelve blades, one eyespot each.

One eyespot lights for each piece of verified work your node has counted over its lifetime, clockwise from the top. An eyespot never goes out, not when a points period rolls over and not while you are away.

With no node, or before it has synced, none are lit. Keki never invents a count.

Keki keeps eight rules.

A mascot that sits on your screen all day has to earn its place. These hold everywhere it appears.

  1. Reads only Vistara. Its facts are your session list and your node’s verified count, nothing else on the Mac.
  2. Never sells. It has no line for upgrades, invites, badges, points or streaks.
  3. Speaks only with news.Every line comes from a fact that changed. Time passing is never news.
  4. Closing Vistara puts it to sleep.Asleep is a tucked tail and closed eyes: no sad face, no streak.
  5. One tap, then it waits.A piece of news is said once.
  6. Never checks its own work.It only repeats what the checks recorded.
  7. Holds still while you type.A keystroke in the window holds it for 3 seconds.
  8. One click and it’s quiet. No bubble, gesture or idle movement until you click it again. News from meanwhile isn’t saved up.
